ALON ARANYA

Alon Aranya has been producing scripted shows for 15 years. His shows include RED WIDOW (based on the Dutch format Penoza) and BETRAYAL (based on the Dutch format Overspel) for ABC, and HOSTAGES (based on the Israeli format Bnei Aruba), which he also co-wrote, for CBS. 

In 2018, Alon launched Paper Plane Productions with an emphasis on producing and financing original international drama series around the world. The company collaborates with producers, writers and broadcasters in eight countries outside the US to help co-finance and develop local shows in those territories.

The company’s shows include TEHRAN, an original Apple TV+ international drama thriller which won an International Emmy for Best Drama Series in 2022; YOUR HONOR (based on the Israel format Kvodo) starring Bryan Cranston on Showtime, now on Netflix; BESTSELLER BOY, an original Dutch dramedy with CBS International and Avrotros/NPO based on the bestseller book by Mano Bouzamour; and THE VANISHING TRIANGLE, an Irish crime-noir series with Virgin Ireland and Sundance / AMC. 

Alon received his BFA at Tel Aviv University in Film and Television and later became a faculty member at NYU Tisch School of the Arts where he received his MFA in Dramatic Writing. He is currently a faculty member at The American Film Institute in Los Angeles.
